Domino is a beautiful magazine, displaying some of the most breathtaking rooms I have ever seen and filled with info on interior decorating, however the items shown are in the highest price range.
This magazine is not really a magazine that should be directed at the general public looking to get ideas for decorating their homes as the rooms shown wouldn't fit into the average lifestyle. The prices listed for the items in the rooms were, IMHO, outrageous. I would never spend $6000 on a dining room table, but that's just me.
While I do commend the decorators in each issue, this magazine should be directed at interior designers only, as they would be the only ones to truly appreciate it completely.
Domino showcases a nice mix of products and projects at different price ranges, levels of do-it-yourselfitude, and styles from frilly to austere, ancient to modern. It focuses on home design, with just a smattering of personal style and entertaining content. Its holiday gift guide was eclectic and helpful, and the little post-it tabs make it easy to go back and find appealing ideas or products to act on them. I would love to see more detailed instructions for some projects.
Domino has tons of great decorating ideas and good pictures of different-sized places (not just mansions) to inspire. They feature products from all kinds of sources and at a wide range of prices so there are plenty of things that normal people can find and afford. Domino shows many different decorating styles, not just one niche, so there's something there for everyone and a lot of variety from one issue to the next.
