I love the pictures and even the ingredients used in Bon Appetit's recipes. However, if executed exactly as given in the magazine, these dishes tend to come out less flavorful than many would like. It gives some good tips on more sophisticated cooking techniques, however, so that is useful. I recommend using their recipes as a springboard or inspiration for your own dishes. Bear in mind, you will need to modify them a bit.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for the self-proclaimed chefs in my family. Since subscribing to it myself it has inspired me to get in touch with my inner "chef." It has super easy to understand recipes. It's a great kitchen resource for anyone--from the not-so-domestic to even the most experienced chef. I must say among all of the cooking magazines, this is definitely one of the best.
