More about Appleseeds: Appleseeds, a social studies magazine for kids, targets those young ones who fall between the ages of eight and 11. Appleseeds is more about exploring, discovering and learning than a detailed how-to guide. Each issue focuses on a different theme, ranging from Animals & Us and Ins and Outs of the Internet, to Salt and Helping One Another. In addition to the regular articles complementary to the themes, kids will find theme-related activities including games, math puzzles and map activities, as well as short profiles of professionals related to the current topic. A well-liked section titled Your Turn, encourages kids as young as eight-years-old to get involved with a theme-related issue and take action. Kids will also be able to view a page or two worth of source information in From the Source.
